Does my pet have to be off-leash for photos?
Safety is a number one priority at Bark Out Loud Photography. I encourage all owners to keep pets on-leash during shoots unless they are absolutely confident that their pet(s) will stay with us. Editing leashes out in post-production is what I consider part of the job. Extra long leashes are brought to the shoot as well to help provide a little more distance between us and your pet(s), but like I said before, if your pet does better on a short leash then that is totally fine.
How long is turnaround time?
After your session, the turnaround time for editing in post-production is around 2 weeks. At that time you’ll be contacted via email with instructions on how to access your Dropbox file containing all of your edited digital images.
What if my dog is really shy or aggressive?
My goal with Bark Out Loud Photography is to help families capture important images of their beloved pet(s). I understand that not every pet is built the same, that’s what makes them so special. In cases of extreme shyness a lot of patience is needed and the shoot is catered around their needs. A lot of time is spent warming up to them and making sure they’re okay with me and my equipment. For any pets that are aggressive, I do require to be notified beforehand so we can work together on developing proper strategies that will provide your pet more feelings of security. Each pet is reviewed individually with the owner, pet, and my best interest in mind.
When is the best time to schedule a shoot for the holidays?
Because of the lovely Florida weather, there is a long hot season, very short Fall, and an even shorter Winter. The question to ask yourself is “Do I want pictures to give out for the holidays?” or “Do I want pictures with the Fall settings to have for myself?” If you are wanting pictures to give out for the holidays, I would recommend scheduling no later than Halloween. At this time, it will still be hot outside but you’ll have plenty of turnaround time to make sure you get your pictures in a timely manner before Christmas. If you’re wanting pictures with the Fall setting (changing colors, leaves on the ground, etc.), and are okay with not having them for the holidays, then I would recommend scheduling later in December and January. Florida is not known for having much Fall color, but by this time the weather is starting to become a little colder and some color will be showing in select areas.
What locations do you service?
I service Tampa Bay, Florida and its surrounding areas. A few times a year I travel to the Austin and Houston areas of Texas and am always eager to travel to other places so feel free to ask and I’ll see what I can do!
